Keep Your Wigs looking Fresh. 11 Step Guide to Washing your Wigs

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to wash a lace front wig:

  1. Remove the wig from your head and comb through any tangles. Spray lace with our C'ya Lace Paste- Citrus Lace Cleaner to remove any glue residue.
  2. Fill a sink or basin with cool to lukewarm water and add a small amount of gentle wig shampoo. Mix the water and shampoo together to create suds.
  3. Place the wig in the water, being careful not to agitate it too much, as this can cause tangles and matting. Soak the wig for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Gently swirl the wig in the suds to clean it, being careful not to scrub too hard or pull on the hair.
  5. Rinse the wig thoroughly in cool water to remove all soap residue.
  6. Gently squeeze excess water from the wig, being careful not to wring it out or pull on the hair.
  7. Fill a sink or basin with cool water and add a small amount of wig conditioner. Swirl the wig in the water to coat it with the conditioner.
  8. Let the wig soak in the conditioner for 5-10 minutes, then rinse it thoroughly with cool water to remove all conditioner residue.
  9. Gently squeeze excess water from the wig, being careful not to wring it out or pull on the hair.
  10. Place the wig on a towel and gently blot it to remove excess water. Do not rub the wig, as this can cause tangles.
  11. Place the wig on a wig stand or mannequin head and allow it to air dry completely. Do not use a hair dryer, as heat can damage the hair and cause it to frizz.

Note: Always use wig-specific shampoo and conditioner to avoid damaging the wig fibers. It's also a good idea to use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle the wig after washing it.
